This includes selecting the finest quality spruce soundboards, strings, and hammers. In addition, every Welmar piano is painstakingly hand-finished and voiced by experienced craftsmen. This elite team of acoustic artists are key to creating the rich, robust sound our instruments are famous for.
Acoustic Interior
The soundboard is a critical component in any Welmar piano. To guarantee the very finest, our craftsmen stringently test mature spruce timbers for their acoustic quality. We also use premium timbers and materials to refine the acoustic interior of every instrument and enhance the natural resonance and tone. In keeping with this attention to detail, our craftsmen also cast the instrument frame in the traditional way and apply a unique satin smooth black finish by hand, to perfectly complement the elegant chrome hardware.
Action Mechanism

To deliver the optimum playing precision, all our action components are crafted in Europe using the latest technology. We even source the finest merino wool to produce our hammers, and carefully shaped each one to guarantee a consistently warm and rich ‘British’ tone.
Keys & Keyboard
The touch-responsiveness of a Welmar piano is unlike anything else. The secret lies in the uncompromising approach we take to selecting keyboard materials. All our models feature solid ebony sharps throughout, together with solid wooden keys bushed in hardwood key chasings to enhance precision and durability. We also insist upon the finest keyboard felts and baises to transform your playing experience and provide the perfect touch
Pedal System
From the strings to the soundboard, we design our pianos to provide a lifetime of fault-free playing. Our pedal mechanisms are a perfect example. To enhance durability, we only use solid timbers and metal components, not cheaper plastic alternatives. And for added convenience, we supply all our upright pianos with an easy-to-operate middle practice pedal.
